Gloucester
Had a lovely smooth ride to Gloucester this morning. Anchored in the Inner Harbor, had the pump-out boat come to empty the holding tank. We attempted to empty the tank ourselves when we were more than three miles from shore (as the rules permit) but our pump wouldn’t pump. So after the tank was emptied we dug into the discharge pump (yuck) and replaced the duck valves. That did the trick. No pictures for you, but if you imagine watery cold diarrhea you get the idea.
Thatcher Island lighthouses. They are aligned on a north/south axis so mariners can check their compasses.
Instead here’s Gloucester for you. Such a great coastal New England town. We walked around on shore for a bit and then took a tour of the harbor in the dinghy.
